Martial-arts-inspired training for adults who want more than gym workouts

WU Fit Studio is not about turning everyone into a traditional martial artist.

It is a Wushu-based fitness and mobility method designed for adults who want to move better, feel better, and stay capable for the long run.

This approach combines:

  • flexibility training
  • mobility training
  • strength and control
  • balance and coordination
  • martial-arts-inspired movement
  • progressive coaching that meets you where you are

The goal is not punishment. The goal is progress.

Why people train with me

I bring decades of experience in Chinese martial arts and coaching into everything I teach.

My focus is not hype or extreme fitness culture. It is clear instruction, steady progress, and helping people build a body that feels stronger, more mobile, and more capable over time.

Through my coaching, I aim to help people:

  • improve flexibility without forcing it
  • build stronger, more mobile joints
  • develop better balance and coordination
  • move with more control and confidence
  • train in a way that feels sustainable

Who this is for

My coaching is designed for adults who:

  • feel stiff, tight, or less capable than they used to
  • want to improve mobility and flexibility safely
  • want a more interesting way to train than standard gym workouts
  • like the idea of martial-arts-inspired movement without needing a traditional martial arts school
  • want structure, progression, and better movement confidence

This is especially relevant for adults who want to stay strong, mobile, and active as they get older.

About Peter

Coach Peter Hoogduin embarked on his Wushu (Chinese Martial Arts) journey at the age of 15, initiating his studies in his home country, the Netherlands. Following this, he relocated to San Jose, CA in the USA, where he established Wu Fit Studio.

The primary goal of Wu Fit Studio is to offer martial arts training tailored for individuals seeking a non-traditional fitness experience. Unlike conventional practices, Wu Fit Studio aims to enhance physical fitness.

This unique Chinese martial arts-based fitness initiative is designed for individuals aged 40 and above.

The name Wu Fit is a combination of the Chinese term Wu (representing Martial Arts) and the word Fit (indicative of fitness).

The program emphasizes various elements including stretching, strength training, cardiovascular workouts, interval exercises, yoga-inspired kickboxing, and Wushu/Kung Fu techniques

My coaching philosophy

I do not believe in “train till you drop” fitness.

 I believe in:

  • progression over ego
  • long-term health over punishment
  • technique and control over chaos
  • confidence through practice training that helps you move better in real life

That is the standard behind WU Fit Studio.
